The new Julius Chancer adventure is progressing with recent new pages previewing exclusively on Patreon. The adventure is ramping up!

I put out this silly idea on social media this morning - it's a rather niche mash-up, but it gave me a chuckle.

After much struggling with the script (and some necessary plot tweaks) I'm back to drawing The Brambletye Box.

The webstrip version will be on hiatus for this next scene though - it's going to be available only to my Patreon supporters for now. But it's just a little skip and there will be more to come for everyone when I get onto scene 5 - so stay tuned!

I get a fair few enquiries about the various editions of The Rainbow Orchid, even so many years after its first publication. Some people are a bit confused about the number of volumes, some want to know which is the easiest to get hold of, and some are collectors who want certain or even all editions. So, I've made a video as a guide to the various editions and translations which I hope will be of help to those who are interested.

The other day I went into the archives (a dusty pile of A3 folders on top of one of my bookshelves) and retrieved the set containing the original artwork for my comic strip adaptation of Shakespeare's The Tempest.

This was published back in 1994, and I've been tinkering with the idea of a remastered edition recently, which would include new scans as I currently only have scans of some old A4 photocopies, which are not the best.

It's very different work from the style I've developed since then - I always say I used The Tempest to get rid of all my fiddly little lines! But, while the drawing is less professional, I still have a great fondness for it.

Amongst the art are a few pieces that were never published, like these early character studies (with Ariel as more strongly female). No definite decisions yet, but it's interesting to see the work again after so long.

I knew I had a few somewhere, but had forgotten that it was actually 4 or 5 boxes, right at the back of the garage. They were double-boxed, so are in great condition, despite languishing there for nearly ten years!

Last week saw the publication of Orson Teller's Alice Ravenwood and the Tomb of Saint George, "an exciting, pulpy fusion of Ghostbusters, Mary Poppins and Indiana Jones". Now, surely you want to read that!

I mention it here because I very much enjoyed making the logo and cover art for this book, a montage of scenes and characters that populate the story. An interview with me has just been published over at Down the Tubes. I was interviewed last year by Matthew Badham, and after a slight delay and a bit of an update, it now sees the light of day.

Here's a couple of pieces recently done ... actually neither in August, one in May and one in July (though it is the August edition of Fine Food Digest).

While consistency can be a problem, depending on my work schedule and other life stuff, I have been able return to drawing The Brambletye Box recently, so head over and read the latest strips if you haven't yet seen them.

The current auction scene is four pages long, so that's three done and one more to go, with the lastest strip seeing the reappearance of Lily Lawrence and her father, Lord Lawrence. Plus a somewhat unsubtle nod to one of my favourite Franco-Belgian creators.
